Quite frankly, if you don’t like a monkey with cymbals, then you’re sub-human in my book. How could you not like these toys? Haven’t you seen them your local toy store? If you have any crazy people living in the house, you might just have one lying around…

But seriously folks, a monkey with cymbals is pretty much the best damn toy ever. There’s just so many options when choosing the right monkey. Color, size, material, and age, just to name a few.

Because the cymbal is not a serious instrument, whoever invented this toy decided to give it to a monkey. They make excellent gifts for your musician friends with a wry sense of a humor.

Unless you’re a soulless demon, then you probably think the monkey with cymbals toy is pretty adorable. These toys date back nearly half a century, so they can contain hidden value to a collector or investor as well.

Let’s face it, people like monkeys. They can be found as pets as well as toys, not to mention that virtually every local wild animal park has a monkey or chimp exhibit.

Now, that’s not to say they have a monkey with cymbals exhibit. That would be quite strange…

Anyway, the first monkey with cymbals dates back to the 1950s, from the Japanese toy manufacturer Daishin. The toy was called the Musical Jolly Chimp, best known for its shocking behavior when touched! If one were to touch the top of the monkey’s head while he was playing, his face would contort into a violent expression of rage for a few seconds before calming down again, resuming his play of the cymbals.

Other than that, the toy was pretty reasonable!
